Write-up on steering wheel LEDs?
I found a couple pages through search, but they weren't as descriptive as I'd like. Well, it seems easy enough to get it apart, but I don't know how exactly to solder the LED. Any ideas?
http://www.evlls1.com/steeringwheel.html is this only for the firebird?
http://doghouse.2y.net/gtp/steeringcontrols/ this is actually easy to understand, but doesn't have anything to do with how to put the LED on instead of a stock bulb.

do u know how to use a soldering gun? if so, it's very easy. i did it and the hardest part was taking it apart and putting it back in. on the back of the board (where everything is soldered in, heat the tip of the gun, and hold it against the existing solder job. once it melts, pull out the LED wires and stick a pin through the melted solder (where the wiring goes into). for me it was a 2-person job because it's WAY easier that way. once u have the pin hole through the solder, stick the new wiring in and heat the tip up again. melt the back of the board to solder it back in (may need more solder). after you did both wires, clip any excess wire and you're finished with that! if u have any other questions, PM me.

I have one and it is quite helpful.
You can get it from Radio Shack and other electronics hobby places. Mine is similar, but it doesn't have the soldering iron holder or sponge like the one in the picture. I have a separate stand for that. Be careful about the teeth in the alligator clips. They may damage a sensitive area of a board. I sometimes use them to hold onto a spring-loaded clothes pin and have the clothes pin hold onto the board.
