Porter Cable first timer....
ok my car was painted Viper Steel Gray a while back and now the paint is not lookin so good..its kinda rough in spots and just not nice...
anyways i just got a PC polisher and all the goodies so my ? is...
the comapny that painted it said they would fix it for free but it will take a while and i dont evn know if i trust em...so should i just try to fix it myself or no\?

I wouldn't let them fix it. That's just because I'm apprehensive when having other people work on my car and I'd rather just do it myself. That way I know it gets done right.

Since they are the ones who screwed up your paint, they should fix it.
If you've never used a PC, (not that it's hard) but it does take some practice for methods and products. I'd just hate to see the paint get worse, when they should really fix it.
On the other hand, if you're pretty confident with the PC and you have good pads and products, it's pretty rewarding to get an awesome shine. I just think you probably need a little practice first (maybe on the family beater!)...

I guess it really depends on that the damage is and if its even something the PC can fix in the first place. Seriously, Id have them fix it. I suggest posting pics if you really want a useful answer.

As good as the PC 7424 is, it's no replacement or band aid for poor quality paint. Obviously you spent a lot of money on a custom paint job, bring it back, talk to the general manager and tell them you want it done it right and will not accept poor quality workmanship.

ya after looking over my car again now i see how bad it really is....
the sail panel is bubbling/orange peel..the hood is like 400 grit sand paper and small parts have little divets in the paint.....ITS GOIN BACK@!!!
