I think he means the plastic cover that goes over the actual headlights.

Nope I'm talking about the sealed beam low beam headlight housing that came on most of the cars from the factory. Most aftermarket headlights are glass. But few were plastic.

To my knowledge they are all glass (ls1's). When they burn out you replace the entire capsule. Unless you go with the empty capsules they sell to use with H4/7 bulbs (like mine)

All the aftermarket sealed housings I`ve bought have been metal in back and glass in front, makes it easier to upgrade bulbs if thats what your wanting to do.

The ones with the projectors in them? That was a project I was working on for my LT1 car.

No I don't want glass housings, I need plastics ones so I can basically do the same thing. But looks like I'm gonna have to go completely custom because once again GM uses dated technology

What are you trying to do?
I recently installed Hella H9 Projectors in my 2001 Formula. I read through some threads over on Full Throttle V6 and gave it a shot.

I found those threads searching Google at 1AM about a week ago (I was still searching for info at 2AM... Donaimian can tell you how much sense I wasn't making at that time in the morning).

you can get the housings with bulbs at autozone, just stocker replacements that you can remove the bulbs and use what you want, otherwise some good links above..... I only used these for high beams though, bought some projectors off ebay for the low beam

Huh? Where?
I've never seen them.
Thats news to me.
Any pics, prices?

Unless you are talking about making a conversion housing using stock replacements. I did that for a while, but I didn't like it.

exactly... its hella easier than trying to remove the bulbs from the all glass ones....spent quite a bit experimenting with em, you know how projectors are deeper than our lights? turn em around inside the bracket that holds the headlight on. gives you more room inside and the headlight still opens and closes just fine....I go crazy tryng to get some of this stuff to work ....
