Default Best way to clean tires?

I can never get my tires to really shine with tire shine products. I'm guessing they're a lot dirtier than they look. What should I use to get all the grime off of them so the shine product will have a clean slate to work on?

Simple. Here is what you'll need to do. First go to an auto parts store and pick up some wax and grease remover. You can usually find this stuff at an auto parts store where all the body work items are. Get any kind of degreaser, spray it liberally on the tires then pressure wash them. Once your done, take some of the wax/grease remover and apply it on something you dont care about like a shop rag. Wipe the tires off with the wax and grease remover going by small sections at a time. This will take all the old dirt and other bad crap off the tires. Once your done, the tires should be VERY clean. Apply your favorite tire shine and there you have it, nice clean tires.

I use an all-purpose cleaner and medium-stiffness brush.

You can also use something like Eagle One All Wheel and Tire Cleaner.

all I do is use those thick shop paper towels and wipe off the black road grime along with old tire shine. After this, IL spray on Armor All foam tire shine.

When it gets really bad, I use something called "Bleche-White." It's designed to make whitewalls white again. It will strip all the crap off the tires and turn them a light brown color....then just apply your favorite tire dressing and all is well again.

DO NOT GET THIS STUFF ON YOUR WHEELS!!!!! I usually remove the wheels and lay them flat just to be sure....

I actually read in Popular Mechanics that pressure washers degrade the tire integrity. Not because of chunks taken out of the tire, but because the vibrations in the water hitting the tire actually degrades the bonds in the rubber making it weaker. I dunno, just what I read.

Use a good rim cleaner. I like armor All. It strips everything off the tire. Use a good stiff brush.

i just burn um off and get new ones lol..

i usually scrub my tires with some dawn and water and a fairly stiff bristled brush, then i use Dupont tire shine applied with a old rag or shop towel, then wipe off the access to prevent slinging the crap onto my quarter panels.. they turn out just fine

Been using the Eagle One wheel/tire cleaner for years. Spray it on then I use a stiff nylon bristled brush to scrub them and then rinse them off. They always look great after.

I'm not saying I don't believe you, but if it were true I would have had a blowout by now. I've pressure washed the tires on my cars for years, never experienced a difference in anything. Through experience I could say in confidence that this might not be all that factual. Like I said, I could be wrong maybe it's happened before. For the amount of times I've washed my car and pressure washed tires, it's hard for me to believe.
