get a harlan or raptor, I know raptors are on sale till the end of the month. They can go pretty much anywhere, including your driver defrost vent. I would post a pic but I do not have one yet, hopefully this week....

^^^^^

The Harlan and Raptor shift lights are both cool. They are both small and serve the purpose without creating clutter. The Harlan is about $60 shipped and the Raptor is about $85 shipped. Take your pick. My brother just installed his Harlan shift light after having it sit for 6 months and it took him about 20 minutes.

One of the cleanest pics I could find (BIG MIKE2005s car)

Either there, or in one of the AC vents seems to be the most popular for more stealth installs.

They are $55... http://www.harlan-engineering.com/store/store.html

I installed mine the same location as above. Except instead of an aluminum bezel I cut out the louvers in the defrost, cleaned it up and used that as my bezel. Lights works great.

Just a though. If youre looking at putting gauges in, you might want to look at the interceptor scan gauge. It has a built in shift light in it that works pretty well. I have an auto so I have no use for it, but I set it to 5000 anyway just to play with it. When it hits the mark at wot its a nice bright light right on the dot.

I have a raptor installed in my center A/C vent. I never did get around to take any pics of it installed. It was very easy to install. At the most it should take 30 min.

I mounted mine in behind the AC vent. I used a LED light with a socect from aotozone and wired it to my RPM switch. You only see it when it lights up.

Can't remember the brand but I installed mine in the dash bezel.

You can see it above the odometer in the below pic. Eventually I'm going to get a new Bezel and do a cleaner install. I cut the hole too big when doing this and it stuck out farther than I wanted. I may also try mounting it behind the instrument cluster.
