Default Where do I get a male end plug harness for H4703 sealed beam?

Need a male end connector to plug into the OEM female connector on the Trans Am sealed light conversion I'm doing.

Anyone know where i can get one, and what part number it would be?

Thanks!

I have never seen one.
I don't know if they exist.

I just had a thought...
Try contacting LS1_SS (he owns www.LEDGauges.com) too see what he has for his conversion kits.

I have retrofitted projectors into my Formula, but I cut off the stock connectors and installed others. (One of the stock ones was melted, pins in it were corroded, and the wire end damaged so it had to be replaced anyway).

Go to the dealer, or any acdelco shop and they can get it. I guess a salvage yard might have it.

They'll have the female end (which I have found online). He wants the male end. He basically wants a conecter similar to the back of the bulb so he can connect into the stock harness instead of cutting it like I did.

I know that pep boys and auto zone stock male and female connectors. I just wired a power antenna into my camaro and they had the same exact female hookup that was in the back of the wiring harness for the stereo. They are about $4 for a pack. I would just by a couple sets and return the ones that don't work.

For my 9006 connectors, I took a pair of old bulbs and broke the glass out, and basically got rid of everything except for the 2 metal leads, then I soldered my new wires onto the exposed leads, and sealed everything back up with caulking and electrical tape...worked like a champ! Maybe you can find some used/cracked doner sealed beam units to dismantle for the plug.

For my aftermarket fog lights, I used the entire base of the old bulbs so that it plugged in exactly like stock. He can technically do that too with the 4703, but it won't be shielded from the weather unless he covers the resulting connection with silicone (or some other weatherproofing solution).

In case I wasn't clear in my description above, here is a pic of what I did:

That will make a sealed connection just like stock, but its more difficult with the 4703 since the bulbs just has bare pins that plug into a non-weatherproof connector.

Here is my write-up:

Here is what my stock (melted) 4703 connector looked like when I cut it off:

If I find any male connector to mate with this I'll post up. So far my searching has turned up nothing. Although, if you are looking for female bulb sockets, I've found some sites selling those.

I've done some more searching and I've found some smow plow sites that have adapters to plug their light kits into a 4703/4701 harness.

Here are three examples:
http://www.snowplowparts.ca/_mnweb/C...de=ShowingItem
http://www.curtisintl.com/HeadLightGuide.html?make=Jeep
http://search.cartserver.com/search/...O%21&bool=AND1

Prices ranging $26 - $36.

I went back to the 5 pin connector, and used a metripack 280 series male terminal to get the power wire for my HID lights. I wired a new ground to the chassis ground on the radiator support grounds were

Simply remove the old terminal with a removal tool, (or long needle), and install a new wire into the connector, no cutting required.

follow the headlight harness back to the chassis harness, and you will find a 5 pin wide connector where the headlight harnesses and the drive motors connect to the chassis harness. they are normally held by a sprung clip under the headlight assemblies.

It will look like this, you can take the black TPA (terminal positon assurance) device off of the back of the connector, and insert the removal tool, (or large pin) through the male side of the connector to release that terminal, and insert a new terminal.

Thanks.

After my last post I went through the manual and service books looking through the wiring diagrams and harness sketches. I found mention of a 5 pin connector further back. At least it looked like it was further back, I may have misinterpreted. Also I can't find the fuse/breaker/fuseable-link for the headlights. Where is it? What is it? I found all the other lighting related fuses.

Going back to that 5 pin connector and replacing the headlight pins/wires with new ones is a good idea. I may change my setup to do that.

SilverSmoke, sorry for the hijack. I figured it was related, plus it keeps this thread up. I PMed LS1_SS about the connectors to see what he uses in his kits. I'll let you know what he says.

I heard back from LS1_SS. He said that he doesn't have any male 4703 connectors either. He sends clip-on connectors with his conversion kits.

Since this thread was started over 5 years ago, I hope he found what he was looking for.

I did later find some other sires with Male & Female H4701 & H4703 connectors. I posted them on another thread around here.
