Default Lt1 Autometer gauge cluster w/ PICS!

Here are some pictures of my autometer cluster that i made for my Lt1. The cluster itself was cut out of 14 gauge mild steel then crinkle coated black.

you should think about mass producing that thing and selling the metal plate.

how hard was the wiring?

The thought crossed my mind, but it was pretty involved, i really didnt know what i was getting myself into. The wiring was ok, I used my helms manual quite a bit. Thanks everyone!

Looks great! You should reconsider that. What did all the guages cost you? Do you have to pul the entire dash out to install that? Saving pics.

I have been looking for something just like that for months now. If you ever decided to produce these, I would be one of the first people in line to buy one from you. That or you can just PM me a price to make one for me.

I spent about $400 on the gauges. If there wasn't so much cutting involved behind the dash I would be more willing to make some more plates. Its also a really tight fit with the gauges and the bezel, and every plate that i made fit differently, so it would be hard to make one that I know would fit everyones car. A 5 gauge setup on the other hand would be cake.

Edit: here is a picture of the cutting involved behind the dash.

If you made a five hole design, would there still be two big holes and only three smaller holes? Or would it be One big and four small?

It would be 2 big gauges and 3 small gauges. I used a 2 inch drum sander in the corners a lot, i actually had to reinforce the corners with fiberglass to get enough clearence. Thats my main concern with making more 6 gauge setups. A 5 gauge setup wouldnt have to deal with that problem.
