Default SS hood cracking :-(

I bought a new SS hood and got it primed and all, but the edges keep cracking.

What can i do to stop this? Would it be safe to close my hood? I don't wanna crack it

Is it cracking because the fiberglass is too thin?

^ I guess the air bubbles did it. He has to sand that part down and prime it again. Should I be worried about closing the hood? I guess as long as i don't man handle it, i should be ok. But still kinda scared.

I had thr same problem with my Lingenfilter hood I bought for my vette. The hood was cracking on the underside in certain areas. The body shop found that the glue that the manufacturer used to hold the hood together wasnt holdinh like it should.
I called up the maker of the hood(StarCraft) and they paid for the hood to get fixed.

The proper way to fix it, is to V out the areas that are cracking and to re glass them. Otherwise just sanding and re priming these areas wont fix it. It may seem like it would but those cracks wil come right back and thru the fresh paint.
