Default Nu-Finish sucks

So I washed my car n cleaned it all up for the weekend drive. I usually put a lil wax on the hood and rear end for the highway drive to michigan so bugs and rocks bounce more if they do hit me....

Well I realized I was out of Tech Wax so i grabbed the Nu-Finish thinkin it wouldnt be THAT bad to use. It went on smooth, dried nice and all. Then it was removal time. Well I took it off and it makes TONS of dust and it leaves swirls (not scratches, just marks) like you wouldn't believe. It doesn't hurt the paint, but you could clearly see where the wax was and wasn't (darkened the paint). After about 20 minutes of rubbing and switching from microfiber to cotton terry it finally pretty much went away.

But to those of you with black cars, I would recommend never using the Nu-Finish. It does leave the paint nice, and takes out VERY minor scratches.... but it is a bitch to make it look decent for a very small area.

Tech Wax +1
Nu-Finish -1

Hello.
I have a black TA. What type of these brands would you recommend?

Thanks.

personally for just waxing on a normal day not show prep or anything I LOVE Meguiars NXT Tech Wax. Covers scratches and shines like new. great wax found anywhere.

Of course since we have black cars....unless you detail it you will always be able to see some imperfections

First of all... NuFinish isn't a wax - it's just a liquid polishing compound
Second... My father has a black car and I've used NuFinish on it with little to no effect. Nothing anywhere near as bad as you were describing. It works pretty good on the black triangles on my car's sail panel, though.

nu finish is a GREAT product, its a quick detailing kinda wax and leaves the car looking amazing ive been using it for about a month now and you can actualy feel the barrier on your car and how smooth it is. you might have just had a bad experience. your not suppose to let it dry on there your suppose to wipe it on wait like 5 seconds then wipe it off man .

maybe you put it on too heavy? I've used it on my dads 2000 Dark green Ram and it went on nice and came off just as nice, with little dust.

Btw, wax wont help rocks or bugs bounce off.

i disagree...if your car isnt slippery the bug is more likely to stick when it hits right? My winshield is rain-x'ed and I deff notice a difference on the highway compared to when its not.

yeah except it is very short lived and it doesn't look as great in sunlight or flourescent light as some other polishes/quick waxes

you name it ive tried it... nu finish blows. . . i agree with the one dude... i wouldnt put it on my lawn mower.... recently trying meguiars nxt... i was amazed.... but took it to another step and did the meguiars proffesional 20/21 26.... **** was ridiculously insane... better than the nxt... more pricey.... BUT WAY BETTER! THAN NXT... i did both 20 and 21... u can do either or and seal it with the pure yellow carnuba number 26.... hit up meguiars site n check em out... its under the one proffesional area....
