Default The TA's engine bay got painted....the right way!

It went to Thunder road for some paint....finally! They are only 8 miles from my house. They are a very reputible shop that does awesome work, custom or insurance related. The engine bay, my filled in Vette FRC's body color and my FAST intake silver were painted. No pics of those two yet. Maybe tomorrow. I know everyone is wondering what the hell happened with the rest of the car. Well, thats a whole other thread I haven't written.

To sumarize it: Sold my first car (97 Camaro V6 A4), bought this TA cosmetically beat up really cheap. Daily drove it while fixing/modding it. Gave it a cheap paint job that was temporary so it wasn't mulicolored. Didn't like the quality at all and paint adheared poorly on everything but the metal. Kept driving it while stripping the paint completely off for over a year. Finally got to the point of where I couldn't work on the car w/o putting it down for days/months. So I bought a beater car. Now work continues on the TA. Now I have tons of pics from every step of the way but again, thats another thread. Enjoy!

Here's my beater infront of the shop.

Leaving my driveway

Dropped it off Monday...they began working on it the next day.

Here's how it came

These are how its leaving! PPG Viper Blue

I filled in the holes with my welder. I do all the work on the car myself besides the dents/ base or clear coat paint. Just about everything is going to look good under the hood. Polished stainless steel covers, other custom painted parts, Hillco bolt kit....not to mention a brand new forged 402 pushing over 500 RWHP.

Well I think PPG has there own name for it, but its their version of Dodge Viper Blue. I'm sure that has a name too, but its the same color as the Viper.

The rest of the car isn't ready. Everything from the doors forward including the doors are ready to paint....besides the hood. Everything needs to be painted at once to match perfectly. He was going to fix all the dents with the quarter panels this trip, but he said once it was in the booth under the flouresent light, it was going to take a lot of work. Meaning days and it was a pain to push the car around the shop. Needless to say, I'm going to let him do those when the car can move under its own power when the rest of the car gets painted together. We were also talking about the roof panel thats starting to bubble from the glue GM used. Well, thats going to be replaced too before paint!!!

He did all the masking. I did ALL the other prep you see in the before pic.
