I did lots of prep work, I sanded down all the grain texture, finished off with 600 grit, Then shot on filler/primer sanded it, then used 2 stage (basecoat/clear coat) rattle can, wet sanded then waxed. It came out VERY smooth and nice.

I know it doesnt match perfect to my car, but I am very happy with it. GM does not sell my color anymore as they discontinued it. I would have had to use 2 part auto paint with spray gun and I didnt want to go through all of that.

Just painted my CAI black with slp letters orange and i used a rattle can. I didnt think it was necessary to paint with automotive paint. I used Dupli-Color Gloss black engine enamel "with ceramic". I used a 1200* degree. I also painted my engine bay last night. Looks good Let me know if you wan see pics ill post a couple up.

Painted my valve covers with just a rattle can... Prep is the most mportant part, must be free of ALL dirt, grease and grime... Painting is the easy part and will stick fine to a clean surface.

yea i am just on a budget want to spend all my money on the car parts to get it back up and running so 20-30 bucks for paint and sand paper is better then paying to have it powder coated or shot with automotive paint
