Another piece wrapped

Another piece wrapped
As promised I wrapped another piece of the interior in "pleather"
and put together a quick guide to how to do it, so without further BS here goes
First off pic the piece you want to wrap (I chose the kick panel for today)
Secondly cut out your material in the rough shape of the piece to be wrapped, allow [plenty of excess so you can wrap it around the back
Third apply the contact cement to both the piece to be wrapped ant the back side of the material (follow the instructions on the adhesive you use, some say wait for x mins till it gets tacky, others don't, and some say use on one piece, and others say coat both pieces)make sure you get even coverage, or you'll have spaces that don't stick and that results in wrinkles or bubbles
Forth, this is the most time consuming step, now you have to work the material to fit the contours of the part, use a hair dryer to stretch the pleather, you'll have to make relief cuts in the corners too, and even add some glue, that's why I use the brush, so I can add more glue if I need to
Patience is the key here, take your time and get the material stretched cut and glued so you dont have wrinkles or air bubbles
once you get it looking like you want it, trim the back, (add some bling if you want) stand back pop the top on a cold beverage, and admire your work
I usually wait about 24 hrs before re installing it in the car, gives the glue a chance to set up
Although I did the kick panel the process is the same no matter what piece you choose to do, take your time, do it right and it'll look great
So there you go the quick guide to wrapping your interior, any questions you can either post em here or PM me
Good luck on your project

The cost was ~ $7 per yard, and I got 5 yards, but go to hobby lobbys web site and print the 40% off coupon, and get it for ~ $4
FWIW I'll probably need more than the 5 yds, probbably end up around 10 to do all the plastic in the interior (sail panels, door panels, kick panels, back hatch panels, etc etc)
