is that an mti lid? ive been wanting to sand mine down and get rid of the stupid MTI PERFORMANCE letters in the middle and paint it i just never figured it would come out too well

That's not an SLP lid. SLP lids are smooth. I'm about 95% positive that's a whisper lid

Are you guys putting anything under the FRC's to keep the heat down, like reflective tape?

Nope not at all. And haven't had any problems for almost a year now with the paint

Thats exactly what I did. Not hard at at all. Just bondo, sandpaper, and time . And the lid started out as an MTI carbon fiber lid
