Default Found something interesting for 1993-1997 Firebird headlights

I was looking on HID Planet and found this thread:
http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=37785

Here are the links in that thread in case you can't get into HID planet:
http://norcalmr2.com/pegasus/index.html
http://norcalmr2.com/groupbuy/index-old.html

The 1993-1997 Firebird Headlight is H4666 which is 100mm X 165mm. Thats about 3.94in X 6.49in. Those projector housings are 4in X 6in.

That is awfully close in size. I'm concerned about their depth though. What is the depth of a regular H4666? These look like they might be deeper and there isn't much room behind the headlights on the 1993-1997 Firebird. Anyone want to try it?

I don't have a 1993-1997 Firebird (I have a 2001 Formula), but when I saw this, I thought that it would be a good idea to post it here for anyone interested.

EDIT: I just noticed that these are not bi-xenon projectors so there is no high beam. Dammit.

My 165mm Hella housings had this information which fit just like the stockers

Depth - Face to Back of Terminal 4.00"

These look considerable deeper and will be even more so with an HID lamp in them.

This looks great and thanks for keeping an eye out. This was almost perfect!

damn wish i could have found those when i had the lt1 trans am. working on my projector project all day today while watching some quality college football.

And you can always tinker with stuff to make it fit. I forgot, but i'm pretty sure you can fit a 5 inch in depth projector in there.

Hmm...interesting. They appear to be actual projectors inside of a housing. That is a great price for something like that if they will actually fit in our cars. I would jump on a set myself, but I have DS2 bulbs, and I dont want to have to buy H7 HIDs to use them. Plus I think they will be too deep for Trans AM guys...

But either way, they seem like they work pretty good for the price! MUCH better than those crappy ebay "projectors"...and better than putting the HIDs into stock H4 halogen conversion housings.

Someone needs to review these!!

The 4701/4703 bulb it 92mm X 150mm (3.62in X 5.91in).

They won't fit without some hacking.

Damn, it would be nice if they made something like that for the LS1 t/a's. I'd jump all over two sets in a heartbeat. I have the Eurolights conversion and it's better, but still not as good as a set of standard projectors.

it would be awesome to put them on an ls1 ta cause then you could keep your high beams. That was almsot perfect- if only it were a bixenon.

Thanks so much VIP1 for posting that site.

I just wanted to throw in some more info. After talking with the owner of that site, he has told me that the lights featured on that page are actually 7x6's (roughly).

Measurements:
http://norcalmr2.com/pegasus-measure/

He's currently contacting the manufacturer that specially makes these for him to see if a 4x6 (perfect for 93-97 birds) version can be made. If they can, then he will have a few of them sent on the next shipment he orders (about 2 weeks est). If the factory can have them made, then I will be purchasing a set. My only concern is the depth of the housings, hopefully I won't have too much of a problem with that.

I'll report back as soon as I hear from him as to whether he can have the 4x6's made.
