Default Engine Cleanin

Hey guys. I want to wash off my engine some, is there anything you have to cover up? And what do you method do you guys use? I have a recently polished MAF that I just put back on today, looks sweet, more polishing to come and I dont want to get them ruined, so any suggestions on cleanin?

i say cover your belts, because i didn't and they started to squeel. also, maybe cover up your polished parts with a cut up grocery bag and tape. just don't get water into the engine when you clean it! good luck

Don't wash it with water and/or Simple Green. I used that combo and it seeped under my intake and killed my front knock sensor.

I get ABS INOP, SES, TCS off everytime I try it at the car wash. I don't know whats getting wet. The lights wouldn't bother me but after a little while the car starts surging on acceleration.Then out of nowhere it just stops. ????
