Question Sylvania Silverstar Bulbs

I was thinking of getting a couple for my Fog's...anyone know if they are Hotter..or could I put them in the stock housings.??? ....We get their commercial on TV all the time. Wonder also if they would last as long as regular ones, being as they are stronger/brighter...

I don't like them. Every set I have bought in the past have blown within 30 days.

If you want just hyperwhite halogens look into euro dezigns (I think thats how it's spelled). I used them back in the day and they looked great and lasted for a good while.

I think they both run at 55W, so they are going to be hotter than stock.

i have the eurodezign. so far they have been in for more than 8 months. so far, they have been good. they look white as advertised, but visibility sucks. so dont expect to get much out of them, except just for looks. they are safe for the stock housing.

55W bulbs will melt the stock Firebird fog light housing. Some people have reported melted lenses. I had 35W and it melted the back of the housing where the bulb connects.

The stock bulbs are 25W.

I guess I didn't read your thread carefully. I have a 1sc stripper so I don't have fog lights. I was referring to the head lights.

You also have a Camaro which has a glass and metal projector instead of a plastic lens and reflector like the Firebird.

Just replace the whole fog assemply, it is easy and inexpensive. I wish I could tell you which brand I have, but I completely forgot. I think I bought them at Pep Boys for like $50
