Claybar won't remove swirl marks. You'll need a polish for that. You can use abrasive polishes by hand, but you'll never get the results you can with a machine. Tropi-Care makes some good stuff, and that would be an excellent place to start.

i know that but id rather not have to buy a porter cable and pads and polishes...i mean thats an easy 250 bux right? maybe tropicare will pm me

id like to just clean my car up and see what it looks like if i need to paint the whole thing or not....i guess if i get it painted i should have this stuff though to take care of it huh?

It's not cheap, no. But the results are proven. Tropi-Care has a Porter Cable starter kit for $162. That would be an excellent first step.

The Porter Cable with the right products will solve your problem. Yes, it is an investment but the PC will provide years of service and save your arms . Well worth the money. The PC kit comes with some samples of the wash, polish and detail spray. Let me know if you are interested and I can have one on your door step within a few days.

what Chup and 99 said ..

also .. wet sanding is far from the first answer, and an absolute no if you don't have a machine to bring back your finish.
