Default Need to know if the plastic foglight housings will take the heat of HIDS.

Hi guys I'm not a newbie to lighting tech I had HID's on my old 2003 g/p both for the foglights and the low beams, However I need metal housings because the stock pastic housings wouldnt take the heat I believe. I have the 880 hid bulbs from my old pontiac. How many lighting alternatives do we have has f body owners? Anyways to make a long story short do I need to put metal and glass foglights in place of the plastics ones?

My HIDs are 35 watt. I wouldn't think they produce as much heat has the 55 watt halogens they replaced. Maybe I'm wrong.

I know for a fact that if you tried to use the HID's and the stock plastic fog light housings you'd melt them. Who makes foglights for our cars, I know that blazertech works in the lil housings on the front of gp's and any feedback would be nice. Thanks guys.

I have HID's in my factory foglight housings and have had no problems. My car is a 95 though.

Ok I'm just mainly worried about heat and yes they do run cooler but I'd much rather trust a metal and glass housing. Dude is it just me or do our fogs not make a damn difference? They are so dim they dont do a damn thing LOL.
