what product was used on those cars as far as polish and im sure its hand app to I hate using porters due to paint edges

The 3M micropolish was used and then a glaze and wax. It was all applied with a random orbital. Hand polishing would take all day! You can always do your large flat surfaces with the machine and do near the edges by hand.

as long as you are using the correct products and pads, there is no issue with using the PC on edges, or corners. even for a beginner.
