Question Removing tint?

I know it's a big PITA, but is there anything special I should have to make the job go smoother? I have a heat gun. Is there anything I can buy to get the glue off easier?

What windows are you taking tinit off of? If its the side windows just use a razor blade to scrape it off, then use ammonia to spray of the glue and scrape it off. Rear windows can be a pain, but other than that it's easy. I used to have to do it all the time and it would only take about 5 minutes a window.

just get you some bondo spreaders and a spray bottle with some soapy water in and just go to town, you dont have to worry about messing anything up this way..

Soak the living **** out of it using windex with amonia. Then I used a scotch brite pad that is safe for windows and will not scratch. Still makes a mess though, have fun.

some window tints the glue will come off with the tint...very few though...but easiest and cheapest way to get the glue off is soapy water in a spray bottle and alot of razor blades...the key to removing the glue is keeping it wet and having a sharp blade...as far as the rear winow, a heat gun or a hand held steamer should make the glue come off with the tint, but the key is to keep the heat gun/steamer on the inside of the tint while pulling the tint very slowly...the remaining glue if any can be removed with a strong ammonia glass cleaner (ie: napa, ac delco, etc)

Use steam! I used a wallpaper steamer on mine and it was super easy. I also hear that clothing steamers will work aswell, but probably not as fast as the wallpaper steamer. There are no chemicals or anything to funk up your interior, just water. If you really care, I used a Wagner Power Steamer 705 Wallpaper Remover and I just used the hose without the attachment.
