Here's my thought. When you start to go much beyond +1" from the exhaust pipes, it starts to be pointless, specifically for round exhaust. Now I understand that oval tips can actually change the sound of the exhaust tone, but when you have 2.5-3" exhaust pipes, you don't need a 5" tip.

I hate those huuuge *** coffee cans on diesel trucks that I've seen.

Take it as merely my thoughts and opinions.

yeah... when you've got the 5" exhaust all the way back on a diesel it looks good. but 3" pipe to a 5" tip would look rediculous.

one of my buddies put a pair of them on his blazer... it was alright.. but No on an F-bod

I have 5in exhaust on my diesel F-350 and I think its was too big(was already installed on truck when I bought it). So 5in on a trans am would prolly be the gayest thing i've seen in a while

5" tips are for trucks. Heck, I don't even think my friends have that big of tips on their trucks. I think the biggest is 4".

I voted no. Its not your car, nor mine- so like stated earlier, I could also use a good laugh. Hell he could throw a diesel engine (if it fits) in there and then have the excuse to tell everyone why he has such large pipes on the car.

I bought some 4" tips for my WS6 and I decided to put them on my truck, just too big on a f-body.

I noticed no one has posted pics of what this would look like. Maybe because it would look like crap? Print this thread and show it to your buddy.
