Will a 2001 ss steering wheel with the controls fit in a '99 w/o controls

will it fit pretty sure but will it work more than likely not, it has to due with the head unit in the car.

well i have a monsoon hu out of an '02 so i know it will work with it. i just wanted to make sure that it will fit onto my steering column.
