Default Can you attach exhaust tips to just the bumper?

I got a single chamber flowmaster and it is dumped before the rear end. i love the way it sounds, but the only problem is there are no tips. everytime i look at the rear end, it feels like something is missing. i was thinking about buying the autozone tips for cheap and screwing them into the bumper someway. i know it would look weird from under the car, but from the top it should look good. i guess they would be dummy exhaust tips. anybody got any ideas on how to do this or has anyone done this before?

do not do that! just spend the money and have the correct piping and tips welded on. just my two cents.

Take the advice that I highlighted in your last post and use it. Keep repeating it if you have to. Don't just bolt tips to the bumper, Thats like putting a ricer wing on your car, or autozone spinner hubcaps.

just my opinion

JasonWW did it to his Trans Am. Send him a message asking for pics, or search for a thread he made about it.

i think that hes doing makes sense

out here in california having tips (even if "dummy" tips) is a smart thing to do

cops are just looking for things to pull you over for in my area - and having a loud car with no visible tips is one of them

that may turn out looking ok but it still sounds hideous. plus think of cold mornings and no steam coming from the tips. and most people that would notice you didnt have tips would know you have dumps. if they cant figure out what happened to the exhaust on your car then they prolly dont have any business even looking at it.

I have true duals x pipe w/ bullets dumped before the rear end, I welded the tips on the rear end chassis which is the best way for you to do it, do not attach or screw them to the bumper, ridiculous, weld'em on to smth solid on your car.

The whole dummy tips is a good idea.. the screwing to the bumper part is a bit retarted lol... Im sure any exhaust shop can give u an idea on how to attach them if u told them what you were looking to do

This is actually done alot...seen several done like this...well not to the bumper but basically the pipe and tips with a hanger welded to the chassis someway and they look like the above pic and are very tastefully done and you would never even notice
