Default Re: ws6 hood shootout!

I do know with the usbody.com hood u have to trim off about 1/2" to 1" of extra fiberglass that lips down from the hood for protection in shippment...but as far as I've seen there are no real fitting issues. As far as the Firebird hood lookin exactly like OEM I have no clue. But i do have the WS6 style hood on my camaro. Pics in sig. Maybe it'll work out for u. Justin

ASCD, is the only one that takes the a factory hhod and makes the mold from it. So if you want the exact match they are the only ones to go with.

are you sure VFN does not do the same?
i read that they even use some interchangable parts w/ GM
but if youre right, i may go w/ ASCD

i'm sure VFN does the same, check out my VFN hood at http://www.cardomain.com/id/ls199redta
Couple days ago I compared it against a real WS6 also red. Hood looks exactly the same except the whole back edge doesn't go in like the ws6, but isn't much of a diff and the front of the nostrills have deeper groves(the lins running along the edge of the nostrills in front. hope u get wut i'm talkin about.
Deep.

Hi, First time post. I just got one from a place called New Designs (606)668-9699 for $569. I believe it to be a cast from a factory hood so it's identical. Fitment is great, It practically fell into place! The only problem I have with it is the edge needs some cleaning up. Overall I am happy with my purchase.

heres some pics (scroll down)http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2421740671

If you want the exact hood GM uses then visit
http://www.ascglobal.com. This is the company GM uses for the hoods and other special projects. It's called American Sunroof Company. ASCD is just another nock off company with imitation hoods.

so does ASC sell to the public?
i didnt see where on their site they would

and about ASCD
does anyone have the ASCD WS6 hood
and have they compared theirs to a GM WS6
in real life?

mine came in,
and i noticed that the grooves near the nose
are not as deep (i dont care about that)
and the bumps near where the windshield would be dont taper in with the sides of the hood like they do with the GM one.

anyone ever really compare the GM vs. ASCD?
