I wouldn't do that unless I stiffened the unibody significantly. Convertibles can get away with no roof because they're built for the convertible top.

I could see doing it with a hard top car, but not a t top. How would you seal a t top car once you cut out the center bar? With a hard top car you could mod the chunk you cut out to seal back in place. I would never do it without a set of SFCs or a cage.

a few members on here have done this, just search around a bit. 3pt subframe connectors are enough support on the underside (from what ive read)

The hardtop cars still have the center T-bar connecting the B-pillar with the windshield, the roof panel is just covering it up. I had my roof replaced (for the bubbles...) and Chevrolet asked me if I wanted T-tops because it would be easier for them to just remove the old roof panel and throw some T-top hardware on the already exsisting framework. Of course, I opted to keep my hardtop!

Since my t/a is just a weekend/cruise car i was thinking about putting a targa and just leaving the roof completely off, Dont know if i will do it though. Where would you put the targa top while driving with it off anyways? Unless you did a rear seat delete and mounted it back there or something.

Damn thats an old thread. The targa fits either way on top of the rear seat with it folded down.
