Repolishing worn exhaust setup
I recently switched to a B&B Bullet catback and want to sell my old setup, which is B&B Route66.
Somehow, while on my vehicle in storage...the pipes began to slowly deteriorate. I'm not sure if it's actually rust, but it very well could be. I need to take a better look and see. It also appears that the pipes are fading and discoloring a bit. This exhaust setup is worth big money in fair condition, and I would like to at least get half of their true used value.
I thought about sanding down the whole setup and finding a way to repolish them. I've never done anything like this before and quite frankly am not really sure where to begin or what products to use.
What do you guys suggest? I can also post pictures of the pipes in question tomorrow night if needed. Perhaps if you guys saw what I was working with, better suggestions could be given.
Also, with the above in mind...how can I prevent this sort of thing happening to my new exhaust setup?

If its stainless it really shouldn't rust. Post some pictures so I can get an idea of what it looks like. You could use a 2000 grit paper to sand and then repolish but it would take a long time to do a whole exhaust. Maybe once I see it I can give a better suggestion but for starters I would just try to polish a small area and see how it looks before trying to refinish the whole thing

dont even use sand paper, use Neverdull, or something like that its like cotton in a little container, but it works like magic. I prefer Ibiz though it clean my friends aluminum wheels right up, after they had been ruined buy rain and snow weather.
