Nope...the bumper on my SOM doesnt match (its not quite as bad as it looks in the pic...but in bright light it certainly doesnt match perfectly) and the hood on my pewter covertible doesn't match perfectly. Neither has been repainted (I have owned the Vert since new) and neither is faded at all.

Yep, a friend of mine who works in a bodyshop told me the same, difficult to match due to plastic, birds and maros.

I thought bumpers were painted in a different factory than the car and most cars are like this. That may be wrong but its what I was told a while back.

It really depends if you have metallic paint in it. The metallic really enhances the color difference in the sunlight. My car appears to have perfect match

haha, i was so confused and optimistic about this when i stumbled on my T/A
The reason for the difference in bumpers is a factory issue.
The bodies and bumpers were painted in separate factories. (95% sure)

you ever notice the older (mid 90's) silver camry's? The rear bumpers turn pink.

I have notice the paint on the SOM 'hawk is different on the bumper to the fender/hood. On the WS6 (Arctic white) no difference.

My front bumper isnt a perfect match. Not sure why with enough primer they cant match. Maybe that costs more than GM wanted to spend.

I've heard it is because of the flex they have to add to the bumpers.

Mine also doesn't match. I too talked with a body guy, and he said the bumpers are painted at a different place than the body. This leaves time for the paint to settle out, so in metallic colors it can change how the color looks when sprayed. The flexibilizer used for plastic pieces also plays a role in how it looks different.

Its obviously a different color than the hood, but when you compare the hood to the fenders, it looks ok, and when you compare the bumper to the fenders it looks ok, but when you compare the bumper to the hood it just looks off. Here's what I'm trying to say:

If the bumpers are painted elsewhere, why don't the just use a different paint that WILL match when it's all back together again.
