does your bumper match?
because neither of my trans am's front bumpers have matched perfect, i have had silver and pewter, bodyshop tells me the plastic on the fenders and front bumpers are different resulting in this problem....

Nope...the bumper on my SOM doesnt match (its not quite as bad as it looks in the pic...but in bright light it certainly doesnt match perfectly) and the hood on my pewter covertible doesn't match perfectly. Neither has been repainted (I have owned the Vert since new) and neither is faded at all.

I have yet to see a TA with matching bumpers. I had mine replaced and it isnt perfect niether was the stock. The other 3 that I know in town dont match either. I don't tell them since they don't know cause I hate knowing they dont match

haha, i was so confused and optimistic about this when i stumbled on my T/A
The reason for the difference in bumpers is a factory issue.
The bodies and bumpers were painted in separate factories. (95% sure)

the plastic has alot to do with it i work at a body shop and even with the same paint from the same gun by the same painter at the same psi in the same booth it still happens its just a fact of life.

Mine also doesn't match. I too talked with a body guy, and he said the bumpers are painted at a different place than the body. This leaves time for the paint to settle out, so in metallic colors it can change how the color looks when sprayed. The flexibilizer used for plastic pieces also plays a role in how it looks different.
Its obviously a different color than the hood, but when you compare the hood to the fenders, it looks ok, and when you compare the bumper to the fenders it looks ok, but when you compare the bumper to the hood it just looks off. Here's what I'm trying to say:
