Default RainX windsheild wipers causing a jam?

I just put new wipers on two 24in rainx blades and now when I turn them on int. I can hear the motor trying to push but it doesnt go only sometimes. They work when I push the spray forward and on Hi and Low but when it goes back down I can here the top one clang the base of the other one and I think its getting wedged in a little. Anyone else have any problems like this? Should I try another brand blade or shorter one?

I have a '96 and yes the '98-'02 cars have different arms and attachments.
I have put the latitudes on my '96 with the newer arms. (24")
