is barkeepers friend safe to use around paint?

is barkeepers friend safe to use around paint? basically, should i pull the tips to clean and polish em or can i do it with them on the car. and no i dont mean a show quality polish job.

Re: is barkeepers friend safe to use around paint? You definitely don't want the BKF to hit the paint since it is an abrasive but I wouldn't bother to remove the tips unless the come off easily.
