Default Removing gunk off my car

I bought my car cheap because on the body there is junk on it that wont come out, the last owner didn't know what it was but he did say it was parked near a garbage for a while. I really havent tried anything but i would like to get this gunk off, its all over the car. I really dont care much about the paint i just want this crap off, any suggestions on how to get it off?

I've actually been doing this today.

I'm using a clay bar to get a whole bunch of gunk (rubber etc.) off the new car.

Perhaps some Goo-Gone might do the trick as well?

Paint thinner and a rag, acetone and a rag. just dont sit on the spots for too long or you will go throw the clear. What is it? Color? Tar, tree sap? Do you have any pictures of it?

Try mineral spirits, or an automotive paint cleaner.
