Photos - Custom 35th SS LE grille
Finally got a chance to install my "custom" SLP 35th SS LE grille. Its "custom" because I blacked out the center section with some flat black vinyl decal material. In order to do so, I had to make patterns for the upper and lower decal out of paper first, then use those patterns to trace onto the vinyl before cutting them out. I actually had to do this two times each to get them to look/fit right.
Here is how it looked when I bought it:

Hey, that looks killer, honestly. Wow, I'm usually not a fan of changing up factory looks (cause they are so good for the most part) but this is awesome.

Looks good, but I think ya should have went all the way around with the black vinyl, not just the front.

Sorry Tony, I just dont like it. It looks weird and I cant decide why. Then again wonder what it would look like on mine.....

MadIce, I'm considering doing the sides also. I couldn't make the decals one-piece and fit those curves though, I tried. I would just have to make some small parts to cover the sides now if I decide to. I'm on the fence on that.
I'm just glad the big black catfish mouth (stock grille) is GONE. Those things are horrible.

I agree with MadIce, it still looks photoshopped since the silver is showing from the sides. I like the concept though. Now be prepared, Nineball has dished out this line many, many times but he has yet to recieve yet.....

You get em!
Tony......looks awesome. Yet...another vote for finishing the sides as well. Still looks awesome, especially with the clear corners.

Tony - Yes it is pretty hard to have the vinyl bend 90 degree's without it creating a wrinkle. Three peices will be fine but then you will see a slight line where the ends meet. I personally think you should go ahead and paint it a flat black all the way around (if you plan to keep it), as long as you mask everything else off good and prep the area your painting a little bit you'll be able to paint it yourself
