stock grille: how do I get license plate plastic off???

stock grille: how do I get license plate plastic off??? on the stock grille that came with my black 00 SS...the one with CAMARO lettering...I took my front plate off but now I need to get the actual license plate holder off...I heard it is really hard to get off, and I think I stripped the screw inserts...but I do have a stull billet grille, in the mean time, how do I get the license plate plastic holder off so I can see the CAMARO lettering behind it???

Re: stock grille: how do I get license plate plastic off??? Mine was riveted in. You have to drill out the rivets, just take your time, its not too difficult.

Re: stock grille: how do I get license plate plastic off??? The kit, from the factory, comes with screws, although the dealer that took delivery of the car may have rivited it on.
If you take the tag out, you should be able to see if it is rivited or if it's screwed on.
