Default Old School Emblems

I have been thinkning of taking of my SS emblems and replacing them with some from the sixties. How do you think that would look. I would grind the posts off of the back and use 3M tape to attatch them, no drilling. Any opinion is appreciated and any pictures would be very helpful.

It looks DAMN good. I think you should do it. A friend of mine has them on his 01 SS and they look so much better than the stock ones. I like that they stick out a little rather than being kinda flat like stock. Sorry, don't have any pics.

Every time I go to a swap meet I look at the sixties emblems and wonder what they might look like on our cars. If my dream of a C5R 427 ever comes true, you can bet your *** that an old school SS427 emblem will show up somewhere on my car!!

I think I might go ahead and do it. I looked at Year One over there -> and they have some emblems. Any other suggestions?

Support our sponsors! YearOne has everything you need, and putting nostalgic emblems on a 4th gen looks great.

I did that but with Z/28 (and 350) emblems.

I got my 427 emblems for my 1999 SS vert from Year One (they are for the 67 Yenko Camaro). My 69 SS fender emblems are on the way...

...MTI 427 will be finished in a few more weeks but just could not wait..

I'm an old schooler

Right back atcha

I'm not trying to be a dick or anything - I love the car, SuperDave, especially the slash emblems and the hockey stick stripes. I'm all about the retro touch.

But putting displacement emblems on car that doesn't have that engine just doesn't seem quite right to me. I know it doesn't bother some people at all, and it does others.

But hey, to each his own

Just so you know those badges didn't necessarily have the exact engine size in the 60s and 70s also.

Most people who aren't "in the know" think it's a 350 anyway. I like retro emblems; I have '69 model badges on my Formula.

Too true...I always have older guys asking me [goodoleboy]"You gotta 350 in that thing, boy"[/goodoleboy] then I tell them its a 346 and they look at me like I have 3 heads
