3rd gen gets new mods
Since we are taking the 88 3rd gen to Bowling Green in September, hubby has added a few new mods:
our 88 Z has an LS1 from 2000 Z
Homelink compass/temp mirror
GMMG exhaust
FLP longtube header
Transco shift kit
3600 yank converter
SLP airlid
LS6 painted intake
here's a few pics

How much does the total package weigh and what does it run at the track?
Nice project, I think I would of just dealt with the motor and drivetrain and maybe remove the stock gauges for some nice aftermarket in dash units. You really put some work into that car.

damn, talk about some fabbing, expecially the dash. I've seen it done but I still can't get over how well it looks in the 3rd gen. that's some sweet work.

Re: 3rd gen gets new mods
we don't intend on track racing the car. it's my husbands daily driver. The car has been through some serious changes
history:
husband has owned the car since new in 1988. Started it's life as an 88 IROC hardtop.
then he chopped the top for t-tops
interior then

Re: 3rd gen gets new mods
in 2000 we clipped the car again for LT1 motor and suspension.
redid interior again
then in Oct 2002 the car was flooded, so out goes the LT1 for LS1
we are running LS1 motor, suspension, wiring, tranny, interior... well everthing is now 4th gen except the actual body.

That thing is cool, I had no idea it started out as a hardtop.
Why isn't that sweet cellphone from the first interior pic in the new interior
