If you wash the car with Dawn, it'll remove any kind of wax that is on the car.
But be sure to re-wax the car right after the Dawn wash.

Wash your car with Dawn, if the goo is really on there you can wash your car a few times.

Darn dealers!

Same thing happened with 2003 Avalanche. I washed it and it still looked like there was something on there. I also noticed that it had water spots after very little time and they would not come off very easy. Since I washed with Dawn and re-waxed, no more problems.

Could also try a cut-degreaser solution (like mix it up with some water, so its not as concentrated) that'll also remove any bug/tar/grease/grime thats on the surface, but Dawn is probably a better route. And yeah, make sure when everythings dry, you throw on a coat of wax.
