Default What is the weight balance on a typical f-body?

I was wondering if it could be possible to have an f-body with a 50/50 weight balance. With all the lightweight parts for the front of the car and say moving the battery to the spare tire area. I am sure this would help in the handling department.
I think a stock f-body is something like 45%rear and 55% front. <img src="images/icons/confused.gif" border="0">

From experience, it takes ALOT of work to get to that point. You basically have to get the car down to 3000 lbs, then add weight back to the rear. This is OK for minimum weight classes, but questionable for a no rules drag car.

I think it's 56% front and 44% rear for the typial LS1 f-body.

3500 pound car car

Is 1960 up front(56%) and 1540 rear(44%).

This means 420 pounds need to come out of the front end.

However each pound take from the front and added to the rear will pay double.

Example

Move 45 pound battery from front of car to back.

1915 front, 1585 rear

now the front is 54.7 % of the weight and the rear 45.3 % of the weight. I didn't count the extra weight the cables would add but one could.

1915 front, 1585 rear

drain windshield washer fluid. say 8 pounds
aftermarket lid to get rid of air silencers say 2 pounds
fiberglass hood instead of steel say 20 pounds

1885 front, 1585 rear car total weight at 3470
54.3 % front and 45.7% rear

Trash the AC and it' condenser say 60 pounds out of the front.

1825 front, 1585 rear, cat total weight at 3410
53.5% front and 46.5 rear.

Add reinforcement cover to the 10-bolt say add 10 pounds to the rear. Add Reinfornced LCA's and Panhard Rod. I'm guessing 6 pounds added.

1825 front, 1601 rear, total weight at 3426
53.2% front and 46.8 rear

and so on...
