I just ordered some Back Clear Side Markers From Afterthoughtsauto and it said it came with, or actually you had to pay $2 extra for some red bulbs...

it said the bulbs look clear but light up red.... I ordered them because what the hell. Anyways, just wondering what kind of bulbs you guys used in them, clear or red, or the ones that came with them? Thanks

I'm actually running amber in mine. I had some hyper white bulbs that I may try just to see. The amber looks kinda neet inside the clear housing though.

i used theirs and they ended up looking pink at night. save your money and pick up some led lights that really are red.

i picked mine up at a internet site but you may find them at a local auto parts store.

For the side markers you need to replace the 194 bulb which is the T13 Wedge Base bulb with 6 LEDS.

Most red LED's are clear when not illuminated.

yeah, thats who i used but wasn't going to post a non-sponser. i got the single bulb led and it works fine for what you need. the others are too bright IMO. when they are off the bulb is clear and the only thing you can barely see is the housing ,that depending on your color, is red. painting the housing silver will eliminate that though

I love my Jam-Strait LEDs, bit expensive though. I run hyper-red (and they arent lying) 194s in my ATA clears, and they look great, especially at night, they light the streets up.

i have a set of PIAA's in my clear sides and fronts and they look bad ***.. get they hyper blue white or something like that. they look like the mercedes benz ligh color.. they are like 15 dollars a set.. good luck,

I've got the same lens/bulb from Afterthoughts. They are pink at night. I'm going with LED's, but do I need to change anything else or can I just plop the new LED's in??
I think with the tail lights you have to change a flasher relay.

yes they are a direct replacement. if they don't come on at first, turn them around...they only work one way.

where can I get a good LED that will be red at night, and white during the day....

Just ordered them tonight. $8.00 with shipping. 4 LED wedge style, red. I didn't get the 6 LED, but you can. I'll have to see just how bright (or dim) they are.

Jam strait hyper-reds are red as the red death. Like a laser red almost, and almost as bright.

just installed mine i got with the red bulbs from afterthoughts auto, and they are P-I-N-K!!!! so what i did, until the other ones came in.... (because i like the look of the red bulb when they aren't on instead of clear) i just installed the bulbs to where they don't come on.... just until i get the new ones in....
