So a month ago, someone tried to steal my Z. Busted the column to pieces, stole a bunch of parts, stole the radio, messed up the window, broke my dash. I felt sick. Insurance covered it, $550 out of my pocket for the deductable. 3 weeks later and 4 days off work total to pick the car up and run back and forth I get the car back. Drove it for 2 weekends. Parked it in the same LOCKED underground parking garage at my apartments. I got a call from the detective a few days ago, the two people that tried stealing my car are in jail. (They took finger prints). I am in the middle of a lawsuit against them.

We are moving to new apartments just for this reason that this happened, even though these are in a very nice area and have a nice crowd. Sunday and Monday I spent all day moving. Last night I was moving the last of the stuff with my girlfriend, went down to the garage and in horror I see someone took what looks like a flathead screwdriver and made a nice DEEP scratch from my tail light ALL THE WAY to my headlight and across part of my hood. Called the cops yet again, made another claim. Here comes another $550 out of my pocket right?

Today my buddies come over to drive my DD and follow me to the dealership to get it fixed. I start the car up and let it idle for about 2 minutes and start to pull out of the complex, as soon as I pull out it starts running extremely rough, sounds like a mis fire, very low on power. I pull over right away. Checked everything it seems fine, start it again...same noise, and the low oil light comes on. Checked my dipstick, 0 oil on it. WTF.

So I open my gas door, there are little white specs which looked like sugar...i tasted it, couldn't taste anything. Stuck my finger down the gas funnel and tasted it...didnt taste like gas, didnt taste like sugar. tasted like water.

So in addition to my car getting stolen, and keyed after. They definitly put something in the gas tank which makes sense because it ran fine then started to run like **** after whatever was in the tank made it to the line. And then I have no oil? There are no leaks, the drain plug was in it. I dont think the motor is hurt. I'm going to have the dealership pump all the fuel out of it and put fresh gas in as well as replace the filter, and add a few quarts of oil and hope for the best. A $4200 shortblock put to waste would be really shitty, and AAA will not cover aftermarket parts over $1000. Wow that might buy some new rods!

If you thought you were having a bad month, think again.

And the dealership is not going to paint the whole car, only one side which is going to look like ***. I don't care how good they can "blend" it.

damn man, I hope everything works out. With people like that there is almost nothing you can do but move which is F-ing BS. My old roommate in college kept having his 00 Civic SI egged and slightly keyed over the coarse of a half year for no reason, he didn't have a single enemy but apparently someone found it funny to keep doing it and basically nothing he could do since it was happening in the middle of the night. Never found the guy and eventually moved but that was because it was the end of the year, other RM graduated and we found a better place. Your story makes me want to go out and get a locking gas cap just in case some dumb *** doesn't have anything better to do.

Kind of good news, I added the gas tank bullshit to the claim. The dealership is going to drop the tank and clean it and flush everything out under the claim. I'm taking my injectors to Livernois to get them cleaned and flowed. Hopefully that will fix everything.


I wish they would have keyed both sides, that would have been a nice new OEM $5000 paint job for $550 I will update when I find out more.

My buddies car was keyed on one side and he just finished the job; He know has a flawless exterior ;-)
