Default Grime and crap inner wheel rim wells

Okay so i was cleaning my car yesterday and started on the wheels. I usually never cleaned the inner wheel wells (I know im an idiot) but ya i looked and they were freakin horrible...I started with some soap and a plastic bristle brush started scrubbing got most of the light stuff off...

But I still have some hardcore grime on there I can't seem to get off, I tried a harder wire brush, one for cleaning a pool and that still didn't seem to work much....

As a result i'm real pissed off, because it makes me sad when i look at them, apparently the first owner didn't clean them much either...

So what can I do to get this crap clean? Access is limited and really wouldn't want to have to take the rims off to clean them if possible...

I plan on getting some new TT2's soon so, atleast i'll know better next time around, but i really would like to clean these stock rims up

What solutions can I use? I tried dawn soap with a wire brush and that stuff isn't budging...

are you talking about the inside of the rim or the inner wheel well on the car...either way i recommend this ... http://www.autozone.com/selectedZip,.../selectZip.htm i asked the guy at the store what the strongest stuff he had was and this is what he directed me too...i tried it and i would sudgest you wear gloves and a mask when you use it...my eyes were watering from the smell and my hands started to burn a little ...but it worked great for me!

I use simple green on my Fikse wheels; the new biodegradable formula is safe on darn near anything.

I would get some Eagle One All Wheel and Tire Cleaner. That stuff rocks. Safe on all finishes and its great on tires as well. No funcky smell or burning of the skin either. I wish they sold it in gallons. If you don't mind buying stuff online, you can also try some P21S wheel cleaner, the gel version. Its suppose to be really good.

I just used Dawn soap and a spunge + about 2 hours a wheel. Mine were never cleaned before I got the car.

It sucked bad but it was worth it.

My other car came with the insides of the wheels at a mirror like shine.
