Default Anyone have 7.5" oval mecham tips?

wanted to see how they look on your car? I saw a picture of them on the mecham website on the red ws6 and they do look pretty damn badass but a store will obviously use the most flattering picture possible. Just want to get an idea before I dump almost 200 and realize I screwed up.

Dump it. You won't be sorry.
I've got a pair of them, powder-coated gold to use on my car, but have no photos of them on it.
'Search' maybe? 'Mecham tips' or even just 'Mecham'?

Here are mine. Love the look but watch the quality. This is my second set. First set the chrome on the lip started to bubble and come off. I don't drive this car in bad weather either.

I was in the market for the same tips but i couldn't justify that kind of $ for tips. Here's a link to my substitute. Granted they are only 6", the price more than made up for it. Also they are deeper than the mechams so imo look better because the exhaust pipe inlet is set further back. I've since moved them further forward since i took these pics, i think they stick to far out in the pics. Oh and the best part is they were $19 a piece!!!

The big ones look awesome with the molding on the bumper or on the TA's.

The small ones look kind of lame, but are cheap.

I did search for mecham before making this post but when I was looking at the pictures no one mentioned if they have the 6" tips or the 7.5". Those knock off mecham tips look good and my only complain about the mecham's was that you can see the inlet very easily and it seems like you can't with those. I still think the 7.5" would look better because it fills the gap a bit more.

Lame is the price of those mechams. Sure the 7.5" look better (which is the size i wanted) But my 6" $19 "clones" are WAAAAAY better than the stock tips. And further more, for the price difference, i can live with the appearance difference.

Have you had any issues with your tips like others have with mecham tips? Any rusting, oxidizing, etc? Would be funny if these 19 dollar knock off tips are better quality then the mechams. Shipping to canada is 25 more then half the purchase price

They look okay with some type of GFX, or with the T/A rear valence, but they're just too big IMHO.

I have a set of them, they look like SHYT now! All the chrome peeled off, flaked off and they look like they have been sitting in salt water for years.
Took them off, gonna have them re chromed this year and put them back on since I just got a ticket for my dumps.

Quality so far on my cheepy's is as good as any chrome tip could be. No flaws yet. I did drill a drain hole in the bottom of each though. It's chrome so it will need some cleaning ocasionally.
I just shoot mine with some meguires chrome wheel cleaner (red bottle), let it set for about 20 seconds and hose em off. Good as new.

I had the 7.5 in Mecham tips once upon a time, there was a quality issue. They looked awesome once I slapped them on but after a while the chrome did begin to flake off. Love my B&B's much better!
