Default 29.5 vs 28 in tire

Ok here is my current set up ...402 ls2 stroker w/m6 4.56 gears all the front & rear suspension i currently run a 28in tire. My question is im going to a th400 setup and keeping my 4.56's would the 28 be ok or will i have to go to a 29.5 ?
I just dont want to run out of gear and will i have to cut anymore away from my car to get them to fit I am stock height ..
thanks guys

The stall will be more in the 5500 area my friend.

The car can see 7100-7200 rpm if needed with current camshaft.

sent you an email which may help getting some info
