Did you have a stock converter before the Yank? The 2.5 str of the SS is going to hit the tires really hard with the low first gear you have. 10 bolt? Should be fun.

anything is possible

The combo should hit hard as mentioned above and be a huge improvement of your stock stall.

If you stall it up to 2500 you should be able to go low 1.60s, high 1.50s.

I have 3.91's in my 12 bolt and a wimpy 4000 stall. Any STR above 2.0 will give it hell.

Let me know how you like the SS converter. I was thinking of looking into that route or maybe a circle D.

^^^^what did you run before the stall, i was hitting 12.74 with my 3.90sonly, and now ill be alot like you, excpet tranny is good so far. Im a heavy *** vert but i sub frams and a bunch of UMI susp. to go in with the stall, so hopefully some 12.3s or better, i want to get as close to 11s before i do the cam-only set up, then later heads and so forth, oh and i have a set of MT ETs on my stock wheels i run at the track, so we will see if the 10 bolt will take the beating or say **** it.

yeah, the STR on the SS4000 is 2.5 vs. your 2.0, so we will see how much my 10 bolt likes it!

edit, sorry miss-read your post, thought you said you had an str of 2.0, my bust.

You're ten bolt should be fine, might pick up a little noice tho. I have a ton of passes on mine and it isnt broke yet but is quite noisy. From a dead stop on street I didnt hook on m/t.

I had a 3500 stall with a 2.5 STR and cut 1.61's with 3.23 gears.

I got a POS stall in it now and the best I could muster with it AND 3.91's was a 1.75. I plan to change that very soon.

Your rear should last for a while w/ the auto. Although once you start laying down some good 60's I'd be leary, I had to rebuild my pinion, instead I picked up a used 10 bolt w/ 3.42's, the posi was smoked so then I said screw it and went right to a 12 bolt. Hate dumping $ into a 10 bolt.
