If this is for the car in your Sig why not stay with an overdrive? With what you have listed I do not think a TH350 is the best solution. Vince

I would have to agree with Vince but if you want to get a rough idea just drive you car around in D3 for a while

I'm pretty sure his car is an M6, judging by his sig...that being said, if any of ur buddies have an A4, do what performabuilt said

can't help the OP as I was looking for some of these videos too...and to the sponsors...I'm sure the OP is asking about a TH400 for a good reason...

Yes it is for the car in the sig.It is going under the knife to be turned into a Track and Weekend car.Doing Heads cam,Nitrous etc.

Why would a th400 not be a good option?? Besides not having overdrive which is not a real issue with me at the moment .Just asking because i have a extra th350 & 3000 stall that i was seriously thinking on installing with 3.73 gears and 28 inch tire to help compensate for RPM should i chose to take it town one day

look into the 400's...quite a bit more money to build a 350 up to the same level as a 400.

My bad chad i meant 400 ..Fixed

I know you guys can build some great transmissions i have friend who is running one of yours with good results. But .And being i had basically all the parts laying around i figure why not (tranny and Stall,Cross member) and i am on a budget now that Work has Denied me overtime so it seemed like a good idea.Because the farthest i travel with the car is 50 miles at tops to the track, other than that it was just stop and go to work

But i am open to opinions and ideas

I made a few threads on TH400's and questions. not many sponsors here offer them.

FTI does and is the one who I'll be going most likely.

FTI hooked me up with a great price on a transbraked TH400 and a 4000rpm stall. My car should be running late this week or early next week to get some shakedown runs and post up my impressions of it.

not sure what some vid of driving around in a car would prove??????????
diff gearing, converters, weight, body insulation, exhaust, etc
a 350/400 is not going to have the same first gear ratio of a 4l60e trans
for those of us with non o/d trans cars, loose converters, 3.73 or lower gearing, were all looking for o/d trans, lol-im building a 4l80e so i dont have to hear those flowmasters screaming at me
if your dead set on a 3 spd, go with the 400, and if you want, get the 2.75 first gear set-i dont think their as strong as the 2.48's though

I have a th400 with a 28" tire, 3000 stall, and 3.73's. I would be more than happy to get you video but I have no way to do so. For a weekend track car the th400 works absolutely great for me. The rpms are kinda high on the highway but I still get around 11 on the highway so its not terrible for 20 - 40 miles a week. I will be going to a 3800 - 4000 stall for next year since my setup really wakes up around 3800 and up.
