Default Cracked Flex plate ????'s

Ok Guys I have been looking and looking for a thread where someone has run into the same problem I have. I have cracked my Flex plate and its warped and it hits the side of the bellhousing. When it happened I shut the car off and towed it home and its on jack stands now. I thought it was the timing chain that wasn't the problem then noticed the plastic cover for the trans was gone!! Wasnt like that before the incident. I attempted to turn the motor by hand and noticed the flex plate was hitting the side and stoping the motor from turning. I have a new flex plate on its way and was wondering what else she could have done when this happened, such as the crank getting messed up. I dont have any good pics of the flex plate but will post some when I get it out.

It probably didn't do much else..............Mine cracked like that and it didn't do anything besides scratch up the bell housing a little. I guess it could poke a hole in your rear cover, but you didn't say it was leaking oil.

I doubt it messed up your crank................unless it sheered your bolts off

Did you get an aftermarket flex plate?

yup.. its common on 01-02 f-cars with the "Mr Peanut" looking openings on the flexplate. Mine cracked exactly the same as yours but it didn't make it all the way through. On mine with the flexplate was cracked, I would hear a clunk clunk sound coming from under the car when the car was cranking.

I never heard anything until the Flex plate really broke and then started hitting the back of the block. I found one converter bolt that was sheard off and went threw my dust cover on the top of my X pipe.
