Bet you called it!
One can purchase a this switch:
GM PART # 1242101
CATEGORY: Transmission Control Connector
GM LIST: $20.41
Then look at a old truck to see how it is mounted. See if you can duplicate the setup.
Their are also aftermarket switches/ closed when floored or wot.
I would think you could come up with something for less money than the aftermarket stuff. Nothing complicated here just a switch that applies power to the switch in the transmisision when floored. Good luck
Rick
Best of luck.

I'll bet you're right. Kickdown switch. Throttle brackets off of 70s-80s GM trucks, late 60s-early 70s Impala, Olds 98, Buick 225, etc, used 400 trannies. The brackets were there even if they did not have a 400. Go to the salvage yard and take a 7/16" or 3/8th" socket and remove the 3 bolts holding the entire assembly, take it home and modify it to hold the kickdown switch with your pedal. Make sure at full stroke of the pedal the switch is fully engaged. Find a keyed accessory power source in the fuse box. Run the wire to the front spade on the kickdown switch. Run the wire from the back spade to the terminal on the driver side of the trans. When you depress the pedal all the way, with the key in the on position, you should have power at the trans. This will power the solenoid in the trans. You should hear it click. Hopefully, this is what you are talking about.
