Default Dipstick problem?

All right I take religious care of my WS6 and check all fluid levels very often. A couple of weeks ago I checked my trans fluid and it looked to be a little below full. So I added about 8 oz...

Fast forward to yesterday I went to check my trans fluid and it reads at least 6 inches above the full mark. Almost like the fluid that I put in a couple weeks ago got stuck in the dipstick tube somehow.

Does anyone else have a similar experience or any options.

as said, was the motor running-if it was, do you look at both sides of the stick
sometimes you get a false read on one side, maybe it splashes up the stick or something, but you have to look at both sides, there can be a couple inches diff sometimes

Yes to both, the motor was running and warmed up both times, and I checked both sides of the dipstick.

Is it possible to get the dipstick out without removing the transmission?

yea you gotta take the drive shaft and tranny crossmember off and there thould be a 13mm bolt holding the tube to the back of the head you can get with about 3 to 4 feet of extensions.... it comes right out after that....
