Default Name of the seal?

What is the name of the seal or gasket that is on the bottom of the tranny?..Its like a circle and is around the bellhousing are..If you pop it open you can see the flywheel from the bottom?

Inspection cover. I dont think theres a gasket that cover just pops on and off

What transmission is it?
Doesn't sound like a 4L60E, on those you have a small plastic cover on each side, which are dealer only parts.

If it's a th350, th400, 700R4, 4L80E you can take a cover off and see the whole bottom of the converter. Parts stores used to sell these covers as universal, not sure if they still do.

Its for a 4l60e..On the driver side..So i can go into a gm dealership and get one?

I know the parts store doesn't have them. My car is missing both.

I've been driving with both missing for a while. Also had the trans out a few times and seen no junk in the bellhousing.
I'm not worried about it, of course it might depend on driving conditions, etc. If you live down a dirt road, or it rains a lot might throw more junk up there.

I'd like to have mine on, but don't plan on it. But now that you mention these parts don't look hard to make. I have a second car that has them. They are very simple looking.
