Depends on what your definition of driveability is

I drive my CETA around town when the weather permits and I also drive it to the track and it has a TH350 with 4.11s. If you don't care about the gas mileage or the RPMs you'll turn then I would go for it. It will be a completely different animal

I've got one in mine. Its not to bad at all but just be ready to get around 11 mpg. Thats what I get in mine with a 3000 converter, 3.73's, on a 28" tires. Its not bad for around town and a weekend cruiser.

i guess my biggest concern is with a TH400. Once you get to 3rd gear and without a OD it just keeps redlining. So on the track doesnt it hit redline before you hit the 1320 mark or close to ?

I mean when i had my 4L60E i was going into 4th gear pretty quickly with my 396 with 3:73 on a 28" tire.

Also around town even you can really go over what 60mph ?

i can careless about noise and gas mileage. Im really concerned about drive abilty. I have been told that TH400 is the way to go, well 5 years hearing that i finally am but very concered about over revving in the 3rd.

What is a redline I turn my car to 7K on the upshifts but have no idea what it's turning through the traps

The swap is easy. Just get a 6 speed style crossmember, strange driveshaft, and a new flexplate and your good to go. I like my th400. I don't know if i'm keeping it (the car) or not but in a auto f-body I wouldn't do it any other way unless you went to a 4l80e.
