Default Street manners of SS4000 or PY4000

I'm doing an auto swap in my TA soon and I was wondering how driveable the SS4000 and PY4000 are? I have a Texas Giant cam in my 402 so I think they would work good for the track but I still want it to be streetable. Thanks

mine is very streetable for a 4000 stall, now it is not like stock but it is not super loose either...2500rpms to keep up with average traffic...

Everyone has a different opinion of what streetable is, but I can say that my SS4000 drives pretty well. It takes a little more gas to get it going, but you barely even notice it after a couple days. And it RIPS when you get on it. I have a stock cube LS1 with a mild cam and LS6 heads and the thing is tame around town but an absolute monster when you want it to be.

PT4000 is looser than the SS4000. fact. for NA the PT is the way to go. all else the SS shines.

how is your car with a 150shot on the SS4000? what do you shift at? what rpm do the shift extensions come back to? just curious, We have fairly similar combos. I have an SS3800, Yank talked me out of restalling it to an SS4000. wanting to see how you liked the converter on N2O.

im spraying 175 now. converter has been working great. my shift extensions are about 6000-6100. I'm shifting around 6700-6800. Im crossing the traps just before it wants to go to fourth. I've done best launching on motor and spraying after I hook.

thanks a lot for the info. My converter shipped out today, hope to put it down the track mid June for results from the converter/heads/cam/intake swap
