Default Converter install?

I installed my Yank converter today and it doesn't turn very freely by hand. It seated fine on the pump but it turns hard for some reason. Is there something wrong? The tranny has been sitting for a while but it should be good.

5. I just installed my new transmission (or converter) and it does not move. What could be wrong?

The most common reason for this is that the converter was not fully seated in the pump, which should have shown itself when there was difficulty turning the converter. Providing you have enough fluid in it, remove one line from the transmission cooler. Start the vehicle and fluid should come spraying out. If this does not happen, you may have broken the pump and will need to remove the transmission and repair. Hopefully, you have not destroyed the converter.

got off performabuilt site when i was looking around, still figuring out what converter im going to invest in when i get the money to put towards their lvl 2 trans.

I haven't started the car yet with the new setup so I guess I'll just unbolt the tranny and check the coverter one more time. The converter will turn by hand but it's not smooth like my truck was when I did the swap in it. With the tranny out of the car how easy should the converter spin by hand?

It should spin freely by hand easily. If you got a bigger stall it takes a little massaging to get it to fully seat, at least it did for me when I was installing my Yank converter.

It will be done this week. I'm hoping to go to the track with it next Wednesday if it is running right by then.

You are more than welcome to ride over if you are bored but this thing is not near as bad as my truck. I have just been taking my time and figuring things out as I go.
